Regardless of if your style is deep sea fishing on the center console, or wakeboarding in the waterway with the ski boat, nothing is better than those sweet days on the water! With that being said, nobody wants to ruin those perfect water days with having to clean the boat up afterwards. That’s where we come in! Boats are put through the absolute worst weathering conditions possible, and not detailing them can cause some serious damage inside and out. Our mission is to not only deliver the best detail possible for your boat, but to also offer the best protection available to make it easier to maintain in the future.
Interior
During our process, every inch of the boat is going to be scrubbed and cleaned. Using the best products available to the market, we start by cleaning the entire floor and all interior walls. Every hatch and seat will be opened and moved to make sure all drain channels and storage areas are cleaned properly. Around the console, helm, forward and aft seating, canvas tops and hard t-tops, it’s all going to be detailed to the best of our abilities.
We know that marine vinyl can take a beating from the sun and become an easy target for mold and mildew to grow on. We use the best professional products in the business to remove any and all mold possible that you may have, and just as importantly, apply protection to all of the vinyl after being cleaned to prevent mold or sun damage in the future.
After the interior is completely clean, we finish by applying a slick sealant to all of the fiberglass to keep it protected and easy to clean in the future. We also offer a non-skid wax to help keep the floors from staining. This is a great option for anyone fishing as it makes cleaning fish blood a breeze.
Exterior
There’s no shortage of options when it comes to the detailing work that can be done to the hull of a boat. New boats are much easier to maintain as long as you religiously keep some form of protection on the hull, while older boats that have a faded gel coat may require more attention.
During our standard detailing process, the entire exterior of the boat will be thoroughly washed to ensure all salt, fish scales, grime and even the brown water line from the waterway are removed. We make sure to also clean the engine for those with an outboard. After the wash process is complete, the entire hull will be decontaminated before applying an extremely protective sealant for protection.
Gel Coat Corrections
Gel coat correction is the process of removing imperfections from your boat’s gel coat such as scratches from bumping docks or trailering the boat as well as haze, blotches and oxidation. The average life of a boat’s gel coat in South Carolina is 7 years with protection. If the boat is left without protection, that lifespan goes down to 3 years.
1 Step Gel Coat correction
This is a refining polish that is usually performed on newer boats as prep for a ceramic coating. This Stage will remove minor imperfections and enhance the gloss of your boat’s gel coat. This can also be performed on older boats that have a minor haze as a great way to restore your gel coat’s shine and enhance the reflection.
2 Step Gel Coat Correction
This is a great option for boats that have moderate oxidation and a fading gel coat. During this process the entire boat will be compounded to drastically improve the finish of your gel coat. Compounding will improve your boat’s finish by removing moderate swirls, scuffs, etched water spots, and other imperfections. After compounding is complete, we then follow up with a polish to really make your gel coat pop.
Multi Stage Gel Coat Correction
This is for the boat that has deep scuffs and severe oxidation with almost no shine on the gel coat. During this process we use wet sanding, compounding and polishing to remove absolutely every imperfection possible and bring the gel coat back to life with an amazing shine. There are some scenarios when the gel coat is too far gone to try and correct. At this point is when we would recommend sanding the boat and having it re-painted, so be sure to always keep it protected.
For maximum protection and ease of maintenance, we highly recommend one of our ceramic coatings be applied to your boat’s finish. This will drastically cut down on the amount of time spent cleaning and maintaining your boat’s finish as well as give the gel coat an amazing shine. We offer ceramic coatings for everything from the hull and interior fiberglass to even the engine plastics and seat vinyl. Check out our ceramic coating page for more info!
